I am thrilled to announce the launch today of the Appleseed Network Opportunity Fund, established and made possible by the generous support of John Johnson, the CEO and Co-Founder of Edgeworth Economics and Edgeworth Analytics.
“I have seen firsthand the difference Appleseed centers have made in communities across the United States and Mexico,” John told me in creating the Fund and making his donation. “They have a track record of building big systemic reforms, even in some of the most difficult political environments. With everything that’s at stake in this critical moment, I’m more convinced than ever that we need to invest in this kind of ambitious advocacy.”
The Appleseed Network Opportunity Fund, launched with John’s $250,000 gift as an initial seed grant, will support collaborative advocacy among the 16 Appleseed centers. The problems our communities face are not isolated, and through the initiative, the Appleseed Network will expand its work to connect the dots – tackling interconnected problems with interconnected solutions through interconnected advocacy. The initiative will also support capacity building in the network to ensure every Appleseed center has the power necessary to meet the needs and opportunities in their communities and provide access to justice for those who need it the most for years to come.
I agree wholeheartedly with John that this is a truly critical moment for our communities, our nation, and our world. So much is at stake, and I hope, like John, you will seize this moment to support ambitious advocacy.
Donate today to help us make justice and opportunity a reality for families across the United States and Mexico.
